Oh yeah I also hate the Doom Morph lmao its probably just a skill issue but its kind of like the SA1 spamdash except it doesn't feel smooth or fun to use and more like a forklift on walls with rockets attached
but maybe i'm just bad at it idk..,
Anyways enough gushing - realistically it is still a little jank and stiff, but there's always room for improvement. Nowhere near perfect or the best but much better than Frontiers no question...
Sparking Zero definitely deserved a 10 btw really hope I'll get to play it soon
Still though even with an engine made from scraps and paper clips they sure know how to get the most out of it... yet I kind of understand why it wasn't longer too. They likely didn't want it to overstay its welcome and at the same time the presentation and level design were definitely the main focus, as it's one of the most polished Sonic games in a long while, and it was developed by Sonic Team's B division - quality over quantity I say!!
I really do hope this is the game that'll retire the Boost formula with a bang though, I just want them to go back to the Adventure formula again!! They already have something good with all of the alternate paths you can take as well... maybe soon enough....
They also need to just make a new codebase already because believe it or not all of this is running off of modified Lost World code from like 2013
The game was incredible. played it on both PS4 and Steam. the Sonic Gens rewrite was everything I hoped for too!! Shame they couldn't get Jaleel White for classic Sonic this time around. we were robbed TWICE man....
hopefully it will get a DLC roadmap but who knows
