Our Favorite Flipnotes from last weeks Topic "Planets"
Our first topic winning selection this week is this highly informative entry, “A Brief History of Pluto, by Aftershock.
Fully narrated, with many diagrams, drawings, text and animation, it’s documentary style reveals the unusual story of a planet’s discovery, investigation, and finally its controversial declassification.
What a fascinating slice of astronomical history.
In our next winning Flipnote by Jake our Sun thinks he’s found a friend on planet Earth.
But unfortunately, Wacky’s manners leave something to be desired, and he’s also very fond of fat jokes!

After their flying saucer runs out of gas, two outlandish pilots, Marks and Fligo, make a landing and prepare to explore Kandi, the planet of illusion, in these two extraordinary entries by Casjin.
With fantastic characters, great comedy voice acting and story structure, this space alien adventure is truly out of this world!

The mysterious planet Mars is the subject of this winning topic Flipnote, created by Mr. Nibble.
Overflowing with martian atmosphere, it focuses on a human attempt to colonize the red planet.
But what lies in wait upon this planet's horizons?
And will it be altogether friendly?
Lola.lpcm has created this delightful, planet inspired MV.
It features a setting moon, the ringed planet Saturn, as well as both the Earth and the Sun.
We just loved the stellar comedy idea behind this hilarious topic winner by Reggie.
In order to face the Sun, the Earth has to wear shades, it’s so bright.
But even then, the cool looking planet is in for a shock!
You’ll never believe it, but the Sun is laboring under the delusion that he’s actually a planet, in this space based skit by liam.
Check it out, it’s a real comedy of errors!
This Weeks Topic - "Melting"
There’s many things that melt!
From ice, candles, plastic and chocolate, to ice-cream, ice lollies, and even crayons, any of these would make a great subject for a melting Flipnote.
But as this is animation, we don’t need to limit ourselves to the real world.
You could animate the melting of absolutely anything at all. Then have it dissolve away into a pool upon the ground.
It could be realistic, cartoon styled, photo effect, or shaded drawing.
The choice is yours!
Animation Techniques To Think About For This Topic
As you animate your subjects, try to imagine them dripping, drooping and deforming as they melt down under their own weight.
Textures will become smooth, and forms will soften as they liquefy.
Also, the more in-between pictures you do, the slower and more believable your melt effect will look.
