I actually searched that up, and it turns out that it only happens if you have a different type of ds. I actually have a 2ds that's unfoldable and I tested it out to see what normally happens when a magnet comes in contact. So no a magnet couldn't be the cause. I am still unaware of the cause.
I think so, but I didn't know magnets could cause that. Though we were also playing with those. So probably yes but there is a possibility that something else could've caused that.
