Hey there everyone, DeepRising here with the Weekly News Letter. There was a great response to last week's topic "3D Printing". Well done to everybody who entered. Here are the winning flipnotes.
In this first entry by LemonLight a 3D printer is used to make gold stars. A nice, unexpected twist there! I wonder if it prints coloured stars too : D.
The 3D printer in this flipnote by Mike uses a laser to print a human clone. We love scary science fiction ideas like this.

In this entry by DevilHeart, delicious looking burgers are 3D printed. Mmmmmmm, we really want one of those printers : D.
We enjoyed this informative entry by Moon★Haze, explaining how 3D printers work.
In this beautifully animated flipnote a tasty cupcake is 3D printed. We really loved the effect of the printing rays in this flipnote by Evening.
We really loved this very nicely animated flipnote by GirlSpyro. It captures the close up details of the printing process beautifully, as the molten plastic is deposited on the printing bed.
Like any technology 3D printing can have it's problems, as we see in this flipnote by Hammer950. We'll certainly think twice about using 3D printed forks from now on XD.
This week's topic is Winter weather. The mornings are getting really frosty now, with icicles hanging from tree branches and cold winds. Will there be snow for Christmas? Who can say? Ice and snow is so beautiful to look at, particularly when the sun shines on it and through it. Also, the way snow settles on things could be inspirational for flipnote ideas too.
Animation Tip: With pencil or paint set, slide your stylus slowly down the touch screen while advancing the frames. Do this multiple times on the same pages, then change the paper to black for a great snow effect.
We really love the way your all so creative with these topics and look forward to seeing the flipnotes you create for them. Make sure to post your entries to the Weekly Topic channel, and the deadline for your entries is the 18th of December. BTW next week's topic will be a two week "Christmas Special" if you want to get an early start on that one. Keep on flipnoting and the best of luck with your entries.
