And now, here are the winning Flipnotes from last week's topic "Disguises". Well done to everybody who entered.
Our first topic winning selection this week by mrjohn is this fantastic showcase of OC disguises, inspired by our Flipnote Topic Idea.
Drawing over a portrait photo of himself, Mrjohn presents his character disguises in the form of a Random-Generator Flipnote.
Simply stop it at random to see which character you get. It’s great fun!
We also enjoyed the multi-bit sound track that’s been created using only his voice. It plays perfectly in time with the images to great effect, as the generator races through its selections.
Oooooooh! We’ve just got Bim-Bom-Boingo again! ”Giggle”
In our next topic winning Flipnote by Silvia, a spike disguises itself as a square in order to wreak havoc on its video game opponent.
Complete with expressive character movement and sound effects, a scrolling background, and a perfectly timed reveal and re-conceal, the crafty digital deception plays out with rib-tickling clarity.
But wait! Here comes the re-spawned square!
Will it fall for the same trick again?
It’s certainly suspicious…..
A family of wonderful characters gets together for a fun game of disguise in this Weekly Topic winner by JoseFigueC.
After a group meeting on the subject they return, their simple gray outfits transformed with a variety of colorful and eye-catching clothing and accessories.
We especially loved little sister’s top hat and monocle, as well as big sister’s Mickey Mouse ears.
Discovered hiding in a department store, a bad guy flees for his life, in this winning entry by Ⓑarkegoof.
However with a cunning ruse, he disguises himself as a shop floor mannequin to escape detection. And as a result, he’s not the only one to be made a dummy of, when his pursuers lose track of him completely.
Cardenia breaks out of her human disguise and shifts to her shadow self, in this marvelously colorful entry by ☆broxy☆.
The character drawing is absolutely first class, as are the stylish outfits.
Very nicely done.
Disguising himself as Stick Man, Dr. Robotnik hatches a dastardly plan to blow up his house, in this hilarious topic winner by Goodi⬆⬇.
Nevertheless, the disguise proves less than convincing, as the real Stick Man is standing right there when he attempts his subterfuge.
Whoops!
He’s certainly an evil villain. But he’s no evil genius!
“Snigger”
The hippopotamus, or river horse, is a large, semi-aquatic mammal native to Africa.
They can weigh in at 1500kg, and as well as swimming gracefully in the water, can run up to 30kmph on land.
Although mostly herbivorous, they have huge mouths with great tusk like teeth, and can be extremely aggressive in defense of their territory.
They also love to wallow in mud!
Your Flipnotes could be about any aspect of the hippopotamus you choose;
Hippos in the wild, hippos from the movies, or hippos in popular culture. The choice is yours!
There’s plenty of photos online, if you fancy drawing and animating this animal.
Or how about a cartoon hippo. Here’s a list of some of our favorite ones:
Gloria Hippo - Madagascar
Moto Moto - Madagascar 2
Hyacinth Hippo - Disney’s Fantasia
Basi - The Lion Guard
We hope you find them useful.
Let’s all get hungry, hungry hippo with this topic, and eat up as much as we can.
