Hey there every one, DeepRising here with this week's News Letter. We were absolutely delighted with the response to the weekly topic 'Toys'. Well done and thank you to everyone who entered. Here are the winners, who will each be receiving Citizenship and coloured stars.

Our Favorite Flipnotes from last weeks Topic - "Toys"

This first entry by Roses WIPs is a haunting flipnote about a scary Annabelle Doll. We had shivers down our spines on this one.

In this flipnote by JRDE a young boy imagines an action packed battle between his toy soldiers. 'KABOOM' indeed : D.

We laughed out loud at the comedic take on the Toy Story movies in this flipnote by Chidi.

We found the drawings in this flipnote by b o o Just enchanting. The music went so well with the images, it was a delight to watch.

In this flipnote by Toon Moons a new action figure is advertised. We really loved the sound effects and distorted voice over that sold the idea so well. The old toys didn't stand a chance XD.

A wind-up toy soldier and ballerina become romantically involved in this charming and beautifully animated flipnote by PizzaPie30.

We loved the way that LUKE used photo imports to make the robot character in this flipnote.

In this flipnote by Lusif a lovely story unfolds between a baby and a dog. It was beautifully drawn and very visually well told.

Our final selection this week is a wonderfully musical flipnote about a coin operated boy made by terroryaki. Our toes were really tapping on this one.

This Weeks Topic - "Squash and stretch"

Squash and stretch is one of the main principles of animation. It can give life, realism and expressiveness to animated characters and objects. A bouncing ball is a basic example of squash and stretch, but you'll also see it used with characters, faces, and even scenery. We thought of Toon Town from the Roger Rabbit movie, where every thing was squashing and stretching, and bouncing and moving, so rich with animation and movement, a real feast for the eyes.

Tip: Don't forget to consider using cycles on animation heavy flipnotes.
