Hey there everyone, DeepRising here with the Weekly Newsletter and Weekly Topic competition.
We had a great response to last week's topic “Slapstick Comedy”, and a selection of our favorite winning entries are coming up.
But first, here's some news about a recent development in our Sudomemo community.
Because of a recent surge of unpleasant commenting on some Featured Flipnotes, we've decided to include this reminder of how Flipnotes are featured on Sudomemo.
Here is a link to a Help Center Article that explains the ranking of Hot Flipnotes, Most Popular Flipnotes, and Featured Flipnotes.
Please check out the link if you have any questions on the subject.
Many creators very much enjoy having their Flipnotes featured, and it's a great shame for this to be spoilt in any way.
Let's all be nice to one another and keep our community a happy one!

And now, here are the winning Flipnotes from last week's topic "Slapstick Comedy".
Well done to everyone who entered.
Our first topic winning selection this week, by Marie-Ange showcases slapstick comedy greats from a pie in the face to an anvil on the head!
What fantastic choices for this topic. We roared with laughter with each slap as it came, but it was the perfectly timed anvil hit on the already enraged Pikachu that triggered the full on slapstick response.
Very nicely done indeed!
The thoughtless spoiling of a cloud painting is the cause of some serious slapstick comedy in our next topic winning entry by bruno.
Created with highly expressive line animation as a comedy duo skit, the set up and punch-line work beautifully. And we especially loved the surreal idea of cloud eating, that ruins the artist’s work.
How inventive, and very entertaining to watch.
This topic winning Flipnote by ⓁUnliDaniⓇ features a hilarious versus match between a stickman and the ghost like Amogus.
Based on the computer game Among Us, the pair Bump and bang into each other, battling it out to a slapstick comedy soundtrack.
But in the end there can only be one winner!
And as the saying goes; “Never fight an Amogus!”
The classic banana peel slip is updated to the extreme in this quick-fire action Flipnote, aptly entitled “Slapstick- Crash”, by Creaky.
After surviving the initial slippery encounter, the unfortunate protagonist is then immediately run over by a speeding car.
Poor fellow, it’s just not his day!
The nearer or further you are to an object, the bigger or smaller it looks.
This is the basis of artistic perspective, and allows the artist and animator to realistically draw a three dimensional object, scene, or character from any angle or viewpoint they choose.
Perspective can also mean a particular attitude towards or way of regarding something.
Your Flipnotes could be about any subject you like, so long as they include perspective in whichever way you choose.
From a dizzying aerial view, or a receding landscape, to a train rocketing past towards you, or a very different point of view point, the possibilities are endless.
What will you choose for a perspective animation?
Why not start making a topic Flipnote today!
We really love the way you're all so creative with these topics and look forward to seeing the Flipnotes you create for them.
Make sure to post your entries to the Weekly Topic channel Weekly Topic - Perspective and the deadline for your entries is February the 12th (12pm EST / 4pm GMT).
We would also encourage you to add a description to your Flipnotes. This is your opportunity to explain any points of interest and specific details that we could feature in the topic winner reviews.
And don't forget, if you want a cool thumbnail picture on your Flipnote, whichever frame you save the Flipnote on, that will become the thumbnail. So choose your favorite frame for this, or add in a cool title page at the end, and save on that.
Keep on Flipnoting and the best of luck with your entries.
