Our Favorite Flipnotes from last weeks Topic "Flowing"

We were totally blown away by our first topic winning Flipnote this week, by BookKeeper.

This stunning, oceanic life MV, stars an impressive line-up of underwater characters, including dolphins, seals, a crab, a clown fish, and a massively scary shark!

Also, don’t miss the dynamic action pauses, stylish shot transitions, and numerous watery effects.

What a feast of animation and Flipnote skill!

You’ve got to have a look at the incredible flowing features of Stretch Cat, in our next topic winner by UsagiK.

The animation technique is amazing, with a liquid-like movement that droops, sags, and stretches the cat's face with a realistic feeling of elasticity and weight.

Let’s hope his face goes back to normal eventually though. “Snigger!”

Wacky has a serious problem when he attempts to flush his teddy bear down the toilet, in our next hilarious topic winner by Jake.

To say that it back-flows is a major understatement! Because it’s definitely going to take more than a plunger to sort that out!

Does anybody know the number of a really good plumber………..And probably a lifeguard too!

We loved the comparison of water to information flow, through electronic devices, in this winning topic entry by Glin.

The animation technique used for the filling and draining of the three vessels works extremely well.

In the movie 2001, early man’s consciousness is expanded with the appearance of a mysterious monolith.

But imagine if the Neanderthals had simply relieved themselves in its presence instead!

Such is the premise of this chucklesome, flowing, spin-off entry, by geezer.

We reckon it’ll be a while before they gain any intelligence! “Giggle.”

There’s a nice mix of topic flowing ideas in this splendid winning entry by V33X.

Focusing on the flow of movement, the animations involve a wave on the sea shore, pouring water, casting a line, and flowing hair.

The Weekly Topic logo is in deadly peril here, as it flows down a river and over a waterfall, in this winning Flipnote, by BoneheadDS.

We particularly enjoyed the eyes sprouting from the letter stalks, as it proceeds, panic stricken, over the edge.

Quick, someone grab a life ring!

This Weeks Topic - "Silly Walks"

An animated walk can be challenging to do.

But here’s an idea that could be enormous fun!

Try animating a walk that looks utterly ridiculous, hilarious, weird, bizarre, or just plane wrong!

Your walk could be massively long striding, strangely bandy legged, hugely over elaborate, or full of totally unnecessary actions.

It could be done with a stick man, an OC (one of your original characters), or any other figures that you like.

You could also try using the DSi camera and photograph your own silly walk, to import into your Flipnote. Just get a friend to take the pictures. Or take pictures of them. It’s all good!

A great example of the ultimate silly walk, and what was the inspiration for this topic, is “The Ministry of Silly Walks” sketch, from “The Monty Python’s Flying Circus” television show.

Here’s a link to a video of that fantastic sketch:

Silly Walks video - Monty Python's Flying Circus: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eCLp7zodUiI&t=16s

It's well worth checking out. There’s loads of extremely silly walks in it, that would make excellent animation references.

So, why not step out, in the funniest way imaginable, and start making a Silly-Walk Flipnote today!

We really love the way you're all so creative with these topics and look forward to seeing the Flipnotes you create for them.

Make sure to post your entries to the Weekly Topic channel Weekly Topic - Silly Walks and the deadline for your entries is October 24th (12pm EST / 4pm GMT).

Also, we would encourage you to add a description to your Flipnotes. This is your opportunity to explain any points of interest and specific details that we could feature in the topic winner reviews.

And don't forget, if you want a cool thumbnail picture on your Flipnote, whichever frame you save the Flipnote on, that will become the thumbnail. So choose your favorite frame for this, or add in a cool title page at the end, and save on that.

Keep on Flipnoting and the best of luck with your entries.
