Our Favorite Flipnotes from last weeks Topic "Anticipation In Animation"

Inspired by the Manga character “One-Punch Man” Sh0rtiot blasts the viewer with a multifaceted anticipation before unleashing the ultimate punch!

We were very impressed with the dynamic movement, imagery, and fast paced editing that works so well to create the sense of enormous power this mysterious being has in the palm of his hand.

An adorable li'l dumpling anticipates, then moves with classic squash and stretch animation in this Weekly Topic winner by ♥SQUIRMLY♥.

We also greatly enjoyed the two color techniques used to illustrate the delightful word-play punchline.

Wacky's Grandpa quizzes us on the meaning Anticipation when he pays a visit to Orville in this Topic winning Flipnote created by Jake.

We were super stoked to see a brand new character featured and animated in Jake’s latest entry.

The Orville character, created by “Mattboo” performs wonderfully here as the curmudgeonly Grumpy Gus who sends crazy Gramps packing, regardless of what he’s trying to sell.

And to be honest, after taking one look at Orville, we anticipated that!!!

In this epic Pokemon battle sequence matthieu shows how adding anticipation can emphasize momentum and energy, as well as adding life to the animation.

The character drawing, perspective movement, details and FX are all truly exceptional.

The anticipation of the birth of a child is both the joyful and stressful subject of this Topic winning tale by T3DDY!.

Beautifully drawn and animated with many construction lines left in, both the hospital setting and the characters evoke emotions of the happy event with much feeling and realism.

Working with anticipatory bobbing movements, QAZWSXEDC has created a fantastically rhythmical dance sequence for this winning entry.

So engaging is the beat in fact, that even the dance floor itself comes to life and joins in!

A bending anticipation gives a cheeky sausage more than enough momentum to go flying through the air in this Topic winning animation by Al Ace.

The landing however doesn’t end well. Poor thing!

And the demise is depicted with a beautifully shaded skull and crossbones drawing.

That's a great choice for the Thumbnail!

Animating expertly with a stick figure, box demonstrates the windup anticipation before a pitch in this topic winning entry.

As well as the figure poses and movement, the timing is absolutely spot-on!

What fabulous thing could it be that everyone wants?

Money? Love? Fame?

Or perhaps some kind of fruit based bread?

The anticipation is just palpable, in this Topic winning MV by Matt.

This Weeks Topic - "Motorbikes"

From cruising on the open road to roughing it cross country, tearing around a race track and even jumping over buses, motorbikes can cope with many different terrains.

These would include mopeds, scramblers, cruisers, and of course the awesome Harley Davidson Choppers, any of which would make an ideal subject for this two wheeler Topic!

Why not try an action motorbike chase, or debut a concept bike of your own design?

And feel free to go fantasy, comedy, science fiction, or any other motorbike way you like.

Let’s all rev-up our DSi engines and kick-start an entry for this Topic today.

We really love the way you're all so creative with these topics and look forward to seeing the Flipnotes you create for them.

Make sure to post your entries to the Weekly Topic channel Weekly Topic - Motorbikes and the deadline for your entries is October 1st (12pm EST / 4pm GMT).

We would also encourage you to add a description to your Flipnotes. This is your opportunity to explain any points of interest and specific details that we could feature in the topic winner reviews.

And don't forget, if you want a cool thumbnail picture on your Flipnote, whichever frame you save the Flipnote on, that will become the thumbnail. So choose your favorite frame for this, or add in a cool title page at the end, and save on that.

Keep on Flipnoting and the best of luck with your entries.
