Our Favorite Flipnotes from last weeks Topic "Opposites"

Our first topic winning selection this week is this spectacular opposite themed MV by Marshtard.

Mixing hand drawn animation, text, and photographic images, the topic is brought impressively to life, with accompanying lyrics from the song “&” by Tally Hall, a musical favorite of this creator.

Our next winning topic entry, by ∴•Daremo•∴ is based on the video game Omori.

It features many characters, locations and specific moments from the game’s story, and zings along with zest, energy, and spot-on timing, for a superlative showcase of opposites.

Marie-Ange has created a delightful MV of opposites, contrasting the likes of a night time moon with a daytime sun, and a tiny mouse with a huge giraffe.

Simply wonderful!

Howard has a mysterious evil side to his mind, in this Jekyll and Hyde inspired topic winner by Nester.

Beautifully illustrated with color, shading, and a great use of lighting and facial expressions, we gasped with delight as his demonic-alter ego revealed itself!

Not a villain, but an anti-villain, stars in this demonic-realm animation by Snapples.

Following the daily issues of a conflicted demon, this fabulously dark MV is overflowing with fire, brimstone, and matters of conscience.

Its detail, color and shading are extremely well done, and the underworld panoramic background really made an impression on us.

OC Vee and Lun demonstrate Tall and Short opposites in this expressive topic winning entry by L.

In fact, it’s created with such strong characters, it even involves two further opposites;

Boastful and cringing.

That’s two for two on opposite use right there!

The opposites of bright and dark are ingeniously explored in this pull-cord, light switch animation by Casjin.

We especially loved the highly effective vocal sound effects.

This Weeks Topic - "Hot Air Balloons"

Note: This topic would also include giant helium filled balloons, such as the ones in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

The modern hot air balloon is a craft powered by heated air.

It consists of a huge fabric bag, a propane burner to heat the air in the bag, and a wicker basket, suspended beneath to house the passengers.

Your hot-air balloons could be modern, old-world, traditional or fanciful.

Modern balloons are often designed to represent all kinds of interesting forms, objects, and even cartoon characters.

I’ve seen a Sonic the Hedgehog balloon drifting high above where I live on more than one occasion. “Chuckle”

Hot air balloons are also floated at night. It’s known as a night burn, and is quite a sight to see when they are lit up in the darkness.
