This week's Topic is Talking. Animating a characters mouth to look like it's talking is known as Lip-Sync (Lip-Synchronisation). A talking voice is recorded and then slowed down to hear where the sounds are. The mouth shapes are then drawn to fit with these sounds and animated from one to the next according to the dialogue timings.
Note : Slow down your voice recordings using flipnote speed at the bottom of the tools screen.
There's lots of mouth shapes and different styles to try. And don't forget, that the characters performance also helps to express what they are saying. Remember to think a bout the length of dialogue to use too. Sometimes Less is More. We're really looking forward to seeing, and hearing what you all come up with on this topic.
Make sure to post your entries to the Weekly Topic channel, and the deadline for your entries is the 21st of August. Keep on flipnoting and the best of luck with your entries.
