We had a great response to last week's topic “Wiggling”, and a selection of our favorite winning entries are coming up.

Sudomemo's 9th Birthday

Get your stylus's and Birthday cakes at the ready. Because on the 29th of January this week it's Sudomemos ninth Birthday. And we'll be having a birthday bash to celebrate this event on that day.

We shall announce the times for this separately, and hope very much to see you all there.

Our Favorite Flipnotes from last weeks Topic "Wiggling"

The wonderful Mr Wiggles makes his spectacular debut in our first topic winning selection this week by The Sparks.

From his man hole on main street, he wiggles, jiggles, wobbles and waggles more than any cartoon character we know.

Designed with a thick-line shaded style and accompanied by quirky and expressive sound effects, he blew our minds completely with both his wiggly antics and his cracking finale.

Thirsty Noodles tries using his noodle arm to take a drink in our next hilariously wiggly topic winner by InstNuggo.

Unfortunately however a wiggling noodle arm is not the best method for handling a beverage and his thirst remains unquenched!

But what a fantastic demonstration of wiggliness in the face of adversity.

Keep going for it Noodles!

After seeing the wacky wiggling of an Inflatable Tube Man, the OC gang decide to have a go themselves, in this Weekly Topic winner by JoseFigueC.

The well observed flailing and flapping of the inflatable contrasts nicely with the gentle side to side movement of the character, giving us two distinctly different styles of wiggle animations.

Very nicely done.

A versus match between a fork and a blob is the inspiration for some extremely vigorous wiggling, in this winning entry by Ran☆Chan.

Using ever decreasing movements to create the wibbly wiggle works very well indeed. And running at speed 8, both single and double frames allow for an effective slowing to the vibrational motion.

A stick man wiggles himself completely out of existence in this lively and surreal, speed 7 line animation by ALEX.

The classic Macarena dance move goes startlingly out of control in this hysterical arm wiggling entry by boofbeef10.

This Weeks Topic - "The Penguin"

Penguins are aquatic, flightless birds that live in the freezing temperatures of the antarctic.

Highly adapted to life in the water, but extremely clumsy on land, their waddling gait on the ice pack, and graceful swimming in the ocean makes them both fascinating and adorable.

Your Flipnotes could feature penguins in any way you like. And for inspiration, here are some penguin characters from popular culture you may like to have a look at:

Top Tip:

To use these characters and others for inspiration and help with your drawings, find their images online, on TV, or in magazines and books, then photograph them with your Dsi camera and import them into Flipnote Studio.

You can then reduce them, trace them, or pop them onto layer 2 as a visual aid. Whatever helps you create your characters, it’s all good. . We really love the way you're all so creative with these topics and look forward to seeing the Flipnotes you create for them.
